This page shows a list of current openings in the Group of Integrated Photonics.
Are you passionate about Nonlinear Optics and Photonic Integrated Circuits? Are you interested in industry-oriented research? The Department of ECE at Aarhus University has an open research position for 12 months that aims to establish a business for photonic quantum technologies.
This project runs from October 1, 2022 until September 30, 2023. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
You will be developing photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for nonlinear frequency conversion. You will be working primarily with devices heterogeneously integrated on silicon. Our approach is fabless: the fabrication will be done by external partners. The position will thus focus on the design and the characterization of these PICs. You will be involved with the frequency conversion of photons towards the telecom C band, and towards the mid-infrared. The PICs will be characterized in our Photonics Lab at Aarhus University, which is fully equipped for this project. You will be working in close collaboration with several companies. Targeted applications are communications and sensing with novel devices with reduced size, weight and operating power.
The Group of Integrated Photonics is part of the Department of ECE at Aarhus University. Our work explores physical and technological approaches that can enhance the performance of photonic devices while reducing their size and cost. We are primarily interested in demonstrating elegant solutions for photonic components, paving the way to systems fully integrated on a single chip and compatible with high-volume production capabilities. These photonic integrated circuits (PICs) find applications in telecommunication, quantum technologies, biomedical, and sensing.
