Nowadays, with the electrification of most apparatuses – from household items to those used in the industry – power electronic systems are growing into a vital technology. However, the orthodox power electronic systems suffer from certain limitation, including their size, reliability, efficiency, and cost of design. The Power Circuits and Systems Group conducts research addressing the development of advanced control, and artificial intelligence-inspired techniques to provide innovative and effective solutions to challenges facing optimization of power electronic converters, energy systems, and future transportation systems.
