Professor Emilia Mendes will introduce one of the core areas within Software Engineering and Software/Software-intensive project management: Software Effort Estimation.

This will include a brief overview of research in this area, and a vision as to what The Next Generation of Software Effort Estimation research could look like.

About the speaker:

As of February 2024, Emilia Mendes works as Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. She defended her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southampton (UK) in 1999; and has since contributed towards Empirical Software Engineering and Web Engineering in various ways such as by means of 240+ research papers, two solo books, and editorial board membership in some of the most prestigious journals in Software Engineering.

In 2023 she was ranked #20 in the list of top Computer Science Scientists in Sweden; and has been included in the list of top 2% scientists in the world based on career citations, for all the releases of a publicly available database of top-cited scientists.
