iBattMan - Smart, Connected and Secure Battery Management System Enhanced by Next Generation Edge and Cloud Computing, Sensors and Interoperable Architecture

As electric vehicles become mainstream, battery management systems (BMS) face critical challenges in optimising performance and safety. Existing solutions struggle to effectively monitor State-of-Health (SOH) during operation and charging, hindering reliability and longevity. In this context, the EU-funded iBattMan project unites leading European entities to revolutionise BMS technology.

 

By integrating novel sensors and advanced modelling, iBattMan monitors SOH during operation and charging, enhancing performance and safety. This initiative aims for an innovative, scalable BMS applicable across various vehicles, from passenger cars to electric trucks. With improved connectivity and reliability, iBattMan supports EV market growth and facilitates grid integration of renewables, aligning with EU battery industry sustainability goals. This collaborative effort signals a stride towards smarter and efficient batteries.
