Nordplus - L3HEE (Lifelong learning in Higher Engineering Education)

Nordic and Baltic countries are focusing on lifelong learning (LLL) for workforce competitiveness, with universities leading the task. However, there are many challenges to overcome before sustainable LLL collaboration can become a reality. Transnational collaboration, aided by digitalization, could help overcome these obstacles.

This project will map relevant LLL offerings, market interest, and collaboration barriers and enablers. The main deliverable is a transnational model for a flexible LLL engineering program. The model will include a plan for a pilot based on the model, with an expert group ensuring its relevance. The key qualities of the model will be the possibility to include different offerings, such as microcredentials and full degrees, supported by a simple governance structure and a transparent process for revising the portfolio of offerings. In addition, there must be a framework for organizing and delivering offerings, a thorough quality assurance process, a well-defined point of contact for learners, and an ambitious marketing plan.
