IoTalentum

IoTalentum is an EU Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie European Training Network on Internet of Things.

The driving force for IoTalentum is to provide interdisciplinary and integral training and research in IoT: infrastructures, cybersecurity and applications. IoTalentum establishes a well-balanced and innovative training network of 10 beneficiaries (six leading European research groups from universities and four important companies) from five member states and one associated country, with leading and complementary experience. IoTalentum will train 15 Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs), to be recruited during the running of the project, through an outstanding training program that includes coordinated research in different IoT fields.

Aarhus University focuses on the training of an ESR on Privacy-by-design Computing for IoT data, including novel compression algorithms that allow for  analytics and queries directly on the compressed data.  The goal of the ESR is to design, implement and evaluate secure data sharing and controlled, privacy-preserving processing of IoT data using the cloud-to-thing IoTalentum infrastructure, local computing resources, and judicious allocation of data. To investigate compression techniques that allow for processing directly on compressed data as a way to reduce data traffic and memory usage, both in local, MEC, and cloud devices in order to address the explosion in generated data worldwide.
