Visiting Scholars

If you are interested in visiting us, e.g. as part of your MSc or PhD studies or as a guest professor, you are welcome to enquire about further details. Typically, you will need to be able to cover all costs associated with your visit. The AU International Services is a good point of contact for international visitors.

PhD Students

If you want to become a PhD student in our group, you need to hold a relevant Master's degree with a good grade sheet and be passionate about our area of expertise. A PhD position is almost always externally funded via a research grant, and if you become a PhD student, you typically become a fixed term university employee with an already negotiated salary and benefits. As a PhD student, you will be enrolled in the Graduate School of Technical Sciences (GSTS). The most common ways of becoming a PhD student are:

  • You apply for an available PhD position at the GSTS.

  • If you can finance your own PhD study, you are welcome to apply for enrollment at the GSTS. We can assist in the application process, and we are happy to discuss details regarding supervision.
  • If you have a bright idea for a Phd study within our area of expertise, you are welcome to contact us and we can discuss possibilities of financing and GSTS enrollment.
